A message from our Headteacher

A message from our Headteacher

Futura Aedificamus “we build for the future”

We are very proud of Wellsway and take great pride in the high standards achieved by our students - they leave us as happy, well-qualified, confident, and well-motivated young citizens and we are delighted that so many go on to excel in their chosen careers.

No two schools are ever the same, but we believe that Wellsway School is a truly unique and special place. The aim of Wellsway School is simple; to ensure our young people develop into "confident, respectful and successful young people".

Wellsway is a successful high-performing non-selective school set on the east side of Keynsham, eight miles north west of Bath. As an established academy, we are proud to provide exceptional educational opportunities for students aged 11-18 within a culture of high expectations and high support.

We are proud to be part of the Futura Learning Partnership, a partnership of schools in the West of England region committed to offering a high-quality educational experience to all children and young people in our care.

Wherever our children and young people come from, we are pleased to provide a distinctive, broad and rigorous educational experience that allows them to learn in a calm and well-ordered community, and prepares them to take on the challenges of adult life.

Our students are at the heart of everything we do – we want to build on their individual strengths and help them grow into well-rounded, confident young people, who can play a positive role in the world. We have a focus on excellence for both our culture and curriculum, so that it allows all young people to succeed both now and in the future.

As a school, we are motivated by a sense of the moral seriousness of what schools do; by a conviction that education, while important, should also be fun; by a belief that schools should be inclusive families in which everyone is equally valued; and by a determination that each one of us will become the very best person that we can be.

Therefore, we believe that Wellsway School is a unique community, one that believes in and actively promotes the traditional values of courtesy, respect, and compassion.

We have a dedicated, enthusiastic, and inspiring team of well-qualified and highly skilled staff who provide excellent teaching and support. This enables our students to become creative and independent thinkers and develop a genuine love of learning, which brings them great success in their futures.

Being a very popular choice with parents, we are significantly oversubscribed.

We strongly encourage you to visit us, so you can see for yourself why Wellsway School remains a unique place to learn.

Our staff and students are the biggest advocate for our school and I’m sure when you visit, you’ll see why we believe Wellsway School is a unique community.
